Our History

Founded in 2003 by APEX Public Relations, the organization’s focus in the early years was to collect gently used bikes, repair them and distribute them to kids in need.  On Your Bike! hosted bike drives in communities across the city of Toronto and successfully restored and donated hundreds of bikes.

On Your Bike! Today

The spirit of On Your Bike! remains the same:  provide bikes to deserving children and youth.  By doing so, we believe we are presenting an opportunity to participate in a fun, physical activity that contributes to a healthier lifestyle, heightened self-esteem and increased independence.  But rather than hosting bike drives to collect used bikes, we now focus our efforts and resources on purchasing new bikes.  Through an online nomination system, kids between the ages of two and fourteen are eligible to receive a new bike.  Throughout the year a panel reviews the nominations and facilitates the donation of a bike to 100 deserving children.
